Albertparkstadion – design description

The plan envisages replacement of three small stands along the western stands with one larger and unified structure. Covered with sand-coloured brick and wooden baleens (painted red and green to represent club colours), creating a simple, modern design.

Altogether the stand will accommodate 3,700 people on a single tier, of which a third (1,250) will be dedicated to corporate clients and further 150 to the media. While this will become the largest stand of the stadium, overall capacity will remain at 8,000.

The new stand will be partially sunken in order to minimize impact on surrounding housing. It will offer three floors. Lowermost, partly underground, will provide facilities for players, delegates, etc. Second one would house offices and press center, while uppermost would be dedicated to hospitality facilities.

The entire project should cost €12 million and allow fast return of significant chunk thanks to the business seats. While majority will be financed privately by KV Oostende, the club may apply for nearly €700,000 of subsidies from the Flemish Government.
