Stadion w Niżnym Nowogrodzie – design description
New vision originating from 2012’s discourse envisages the 2018 stadium located at Strelka, in western part of the city, instead of initially planned Pecherskiye Peski Island. Thanks to this the new stadium will have better location in terms of traffic and public transportation.
Parts of the stands are to be temporary, allowing for post-World-Cup downscale by 10-20 thousand seats, most likely behind goals.
The stadium is to have a gas heating system, raising temperature by even 15 degrees in cold weather.
Detailed design, with final outer shell shape, among other, is to be known this Autumn.
