New Cosmos Stadium – design description

The plan envisages construction of a stadium, 175-room hotel, public park and an extensive retail development on 28 acres (some 110,000 sqm). The entire complex is expected to cost $ 400 million, of which the stadium will require half. The desired plot is located adjacent the Belmont Park racetrack, on Long Island.

The stadium would be integrated with a pedestrian bridge for easy access and conjoined with the retail park. Perhaps the most distinctive feature would be the horizontal ‘blinds’ creating a light façade running along the venue.
