Turner Stadium – design description
Construction works began officially in 2011, but it wasn’t until late 2012, that the stadium went through foundation works. This is the very first stadium by GAB Architects that has all side/and stands from the start, but at the same time has no corner sections.
Despite English-alike layout, it also presents some of what GAB has everyone used to – light monumental walls in the corners. This gives the stadium some weight as fronts of each stand are very light, with facades allowing air to get inside and out.
