Semey Smart City Stadium – design description
The new football stadium in Semey was initially planned to be built on the left bank of the Irtysh River, on the site of the neglected Pishchevik Stadium. The venue was to accommodate 12,500 spectators, and in October 2024 a time capsule was laid, symbolically marking the start of construction.
However, the plans were later revised, and it was decided to build the new stadium in the northern part of the city, within the new Smart City district. A martial arts palace is now planned on the former Pishchevik site.
The design of the new arena also changed completely. The stadium will take the form of an enclosed, rectangular structure with rounded corners. It will feature a modern appearance, meet UEFA standards, and have a capacity of 25,000 spectators.
Construction of the new stadium officially began on December 4, 2025, with completion scheduled two years later. The venue will become the home ground of FC Elimai, which has so far played at Spartak Stadium.
