Stínadla 2.0 – design description
What is the Na Stínadlech stadium redevelopment project in brief?
The modernisation plan for FK Teplice’s stadium includes the complete reconstruction of two stands: the main (west) stand and the stand behind the northern goal. The remaining stands will also undergo refurbishment, while a new yellow facade will be added around the exterior, giving the arena a cohesive and recognisable appearance.
The new northern stand will be built together with an administrative building, forming a tall structure that will enclose the previously open side of the stadium. As a result, the venue will gain a compact, fully enclosed architectural form.
The new main stand will feature luxury boxes, modern operational facilities and a club museum. However, the expansion of premium areas and the overall upgrade in standards will lead to a reduction in total capacity to approximately 14,000 seats.
The project, branded “Stínadla 2.0”, is to be carried out in phases without closing the stadium. In the most optimistic scenario, construction would begin in early 2027 and be completed in 2030. The cost of the investment is estimated at one billion Czech koruna.
What is Na Stínadlech like today?
The Na Stínadlech stadium was inaugurated on 9 May 1973 (its 50th anniversary was celebrated in 2023). The venue features tall, roofed stands on three sides of the pitch and an open northern side with a much smaller stand and views of the mountains in the distance.
The stands along the pitch have a distinctive shape, with a subtle inward curve in their central sections. The stadium’s nominal capacity exceeds 18,000 seats, but due to the closure of the northern stand it is currently limited to approximately 17,000 spectators.
At the time of its inauguration, the venue – equipped with modern reinforced-concrete stands – ranked among the finest stadiums in then Czechoslovakia. Today, it remains one of the leading football arenas in the Czech Republic and is also among the largest stadiums in the country.
How were the plans for redeveloping Na Stínadlech stadium created?
In the spring of 2025, the investment company Accolade Holding became the new owner of FK Teplice – and, along with it, the stadium. The company and its co-owner, Milan Kratina, committed to further developing the club, with one of their main goals being investment in infrastructure, particularly the stadium’s modernisation.
The concept for the redevelopment of Na Stínadlech was created by engineer Jakub Kail of Rota Group. The project was officially presented on 11 February 2026 at the Premiere Cinemas multiplex. Alongside the stadium redevelopment plans, a project for a new club academy in Modlany was also announced.
What does the Na Stínadlech stadium redevelopment project involve?
The plan includes the construction of entirely new stands behind the northern goal and on the west side (the main stand). The remaining stands will also be refurbished, and the exterior will receive a decorative yellow facade. The entire project has been named “Stínadla 2.0.”
The new northern stand, like its predecessor, will be significantly smaller than the other stands. Above it, however, a two-storey administrative building will be constructed, forming a tall wall that closes off the northern side of the stadium, transforming the structure into a compact, fully enclosed form.
The stand will include seating for spectators with disabilities, and a large LED screen will be installed at the top of the administrative building.
The new main (west) stand will offer fewer regular seats but will include new VIP boxes, a hospitality area, and 37 luxury skyboxes. It will feature modern facilities for players, media, and guests, as well as a club museum.
The structure will be built parallel to the pitch, losing the characteristic central “inward curve,” which will be retained only on the east stand.
The exterior of the stand will be covered with a yellow textile facade, giving the building a more aesthetic and recognisable appearance. The facade can also be illuminated at night – including in red, for example during Czech national team matches.
As part of the modernisation, the stadium will be equipped with new technologies, including an upgraded sound system and lighting installed in the roof, replacing the existing floodlight masts.
The increase in premium seating, improved comfort, and adaptation to safety regulations will result in a reduction of overall capacity, with the modernised stadium able to accommodate just over 14,000 spectators.
The project also includes redevelopment of the immediate surroundings, which will be transformed into an attractive public space.
When will Na Stínadlech stadium be redeveloped?
The project is initially estimated to cost around one billion Czech koruna. The club and its owners are counting on support from the city and regional authorities to carry out the investment.
The redevelopment will be carried out in phases. The new northern stand is planned as the first stage, followed by the reconstruction of the main stand and the remaining tasks. Construction will take place without the need to close the stadium to the public.
If everything goes according to plan, work could begin in early 2027. In the most optimistic scenario, the entire project is expected to be completed by 2030.
