Tsentralnyi Stadion Aktau – design description
The first plans to build a new football stadium in Aktau were approved in April 2020 by the Mangystau Region akimat. The facility was planned to accommodate 8,000 spectators and to be realized with the participation of private investors. Meanwhile, in September 2021, the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Roman Sklyar, announced plans for a new 10,000-seat stadium in Aktau.
The city’s leading football club, Caspiy Aktau, currently plays its matches at the modest Zhas Kanat Stadium, which has a capacity of just over 3,000 spectators and has faced difficulties in meeting league requirements.
In February 2026, the new stadium project was presented to the Mangystau Region akim, Nurdaulet Kilybay. Visualizations were also published in the media. This came shortly after the Aktau club, following a two-year absence, secured promotion to the Premier League in the 2025 season.
The project envisages the construction of a modern, football-specific stadium with a capacity of 10,000 seats. The facility will have an oval shape and be covered by a distinctive white dome, which will serve as a roof for the stands. The arena is planned to be equipped with modern technologies and will meet UEFA standards.
The stadium is to be built in a new location within one of the city’s developing residential areas. Alongside it, a sports and rehabilitation complex is also planned.
The project is expected to be carried out in phases, although the full timeline and financial details have not yet been disclosed.
