Stadion Edwarda Szymkowiaka – design description

The phased development of current Edward Szymkowiak Stadium will include a lot of existing infrastructure (floodlight masts, heated pitch – among other). Two side stands will be retained and covered, while the western end joins them to create U-shaped spectator areas. All seats would be covered, requiring 8,600 roof surface.

East end and secondary training stadium will make way to a new hockey arena complex. Two halls will provide two rinks for Polonia’s hockey section, one for training and one for events with up to 2,500 spectators. The stadium itself is expected to cost PLN 35 million but with both indoor arenas the price may reach 115 million.

Final design may differ significantly, because the project is expected to be carried out in ‘design + build’ formula.
