Camperdown Park – design description
In 2016, for £1.2 million, Dundee FC owners John Nelms and Tim Keyes purchased 29 acres of land at Camperdown Park, near the Dundee Ice Arena. Plans to build a new stadium for the club on the site were soon revealed. Dundee FC would thus move from Dens Park, opened back in 1899 and known for its close proximity to Tannadice Park, the derby stadium of the popular 'The Dons' rival, Dundee United.
A draft concept for the new venue was made public in March 2022. The new Dundee FC stadium will have a capacity of 12,500 spectators. The project will include retail space, restaurants, flats, a hotel, car parks and... a crematorium. The club's training centre will also be built next to the stadium.
