Stadion Widzewa – design description

The concept was comissioned privately by Widzew, who wanted to follow suit of Legia Warszawa (financed the design, in return received public financing for it). However, the stadium proved too expensive to build publicly and attempts at public-private partnership failed.

Eventually the concept was dropped. Instead, in spring 2014 the city launched a design+build tender for much smaller stadium. The 18,000-capacity ground should be ready by 2017.
