Olympiastadion Hamburg – design description
The Olympic Stadium in Hamburg would stand in Kleiner Grasbrook, just south of the centre and by the Elbe River’s waters. Before the 2024 Olympics it would “explode” into the city’s skyline with the tall tower serving as support to temporary roof and as a viewing tower.
Seating layout would comprise of three continuous tiers, two upper ones temporary. After the games the stadium would serve as the city’s main athletics stadium, while Kleiner Grasbrook would be mostly transformed into residential area.
The images provided present an early masterplan of the Olympic Complex and should thus not be treated as final. Especially renderings of the main stadium.
