Kokshetau Football Stadium – design description

The construction of the new stadium in Kokshetau was initiated following the visit of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in September 2025. The project is planned for the northern part of the city, in the rapidly developing Saryarka microdistrict, replacing the existing Okzhetpes Stadium, which dates back to 1955.

The modern football venue will comply with UEFA Category 4 requirements and will feature a fully roofed design, covering both the stands and the pitch. This solution will allow for year-round use of the facility, including during winter, as well as the hosting of various cultural events. The stadium will have a capacity of 10,000 spectators.

The ceremonial laying of the time capsule took place on 29 April 2026, attended by, among others, the akim of the Akmola Region, Marat Akhmetzhanov, and the akim of Kokshetau, Anuar Kumpikeev. The main contractor for the project is Integra Construction KZ, with completion scheduled for the 2028 season.
