Budapest Olympic Stadium – design description
The Budapest Olympic Stadium is expected to be built on the south-western end of the Ferencváros district, along the Danube River as the heart of a multi-discipline Olympic Park.
Because it doesn’t have to hold the opening/closing ceremonies (planned at the Ferenc Puskas Stadium), the building may have capacity of 50,000, lower than expected for main venues overall.
The stadium’s main use both during and after the 2024 Olympics is expected to be athletics, which explains why the stadium would not be built if the Hungarian bid doesn’t succeed.
The presented renderings are preliminary, final design to be prepared after a successful bid.
