Stade Houcine Modanib – design description
The new football stadium in Agadir will be built in the eastern district of Tikiouine, on the site of a former modest stadium featuring an athletics track and a small stand on the western side. Together with the adjacent sports hall, it formed a complex known as the “Complexe Sportif Municipal Houcine Modanib”.
The project for the new stadium was approved by the City Council during an extraordinary session on 9 March 2026. Construction works began later that same month and are expected to last one year. The investment is estimated to cost around 300 million Moroccan dirhams.
The stadium will be built to high standards and will comply with international FIFA and CAF requirements. It will feature a modern, football-specific design, with a seating capacity of approximately 15,000 spectators.
Once completed, the facility is intended to serve local football clubs. Its rapid delivery will allow it to temporarily replace Stade Adrar during its reconstruction in preparation for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
