El Monumental – design description

The vision was commissioned by River Plate in 2010 in order to see the current stadium updated, but also retain its character at the same time. Upper tiers are to be left with only new entrance gates and staircases, while lower sections are to be transformed for football-specific layout instead of the current multi-use mode.

Along with seating revamp a new roof was envisaged over all spectators, with external cladding covering the concrete structure.

Around the stadium office/commercial developments were planned along new training facilities and indoor halls.
