PVF Stadium – design description

The new football stadium on the southern outskirts of Hanoi will have a capacity of 60,000 spectators. The facility will feature LED screens, luxury VIP boxes, and a hybrid pitch, with new plazas and parking lots planned outside.

The design draws inspiration from the famous AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL team Dallas Cowboys, and will feature a similar dome with retractable segments supported by two massive trusses, allowing the roof to be fully closed. Opening or closing the roof is expected to take between 12 and 20 minutes.

The stadium will be located near the facilities of the PVF youth football academy, situated in Nghĩa Trụ commune, approximately 20 km southeast of central Hanoi.

The venue will serve the Vietnam national team, domestic competitions, and attract international events, as well as large cultural gatherings. Security and law enforcement agencies will also make use of the arena.

So far, no facilities in Vietnam have matched the scale and level of sophistication of the new PVF Stadium, although the construction of two other modern stadiums has also been announced for late 2025 and early 2026: Trong Dong Stadium (also planned for the southern suburbs of Hanoi) and Rach Chiec Stadium (in Ho Chi Minh City).

The ceremonial groundbreaking for PVF Stadium took place on October 19, 2025, at the PVF academy, with Tô Lâm, Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, among the guests, along with numerous other high-ranking officials.

The project is being overseen by the Ministry of Public Security, with Vinhomes serving as the main contractor. No schedule or cost estimates have been publicly disclosed.
