PVF Stadium – design description
The planned football stadium on the outskirts of Hanoi will be the largest in the country and the first to meet such high standards, surpassing Mỹ Đình National Stadium in many respects.
The stadium will accommodate 60,000 spectators, making it one of the largest in the entire region. It will feature LED screens, luxurious VIP boxes and a hybrid pitch, while new plazas and parking areas will be developed around the venue.
The design draws inspiration from the iconic AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL team Dallas Cowboys. The stadium will have a similar dome structure with retractable roof segments supported by two massive trusses, allowing the roof to be fully closed.
Opening or closing the roof is expected to take between 12 and 20 minutes. It will be the third stadium in Southeast Asia with a retractable roof, after Singapore National Stadium and Jakarta International Stadium.
The venue will serve as the country’s leading stadium, hosting the Vietnam national team, domestic competitions, international tournaments, and major cultural events. The facility will also be used by security forces.
The stadium will be built next to the facilities of the PVF youth football academy, located in the Nghĩa Trụ commune, about 20 kilometres southeast of central Hanoi.
The official groundbreaking ceremony took place on October 19, 2025, at the PVF academy grounds, attended by the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Tô Lâm, along with many other high-ranking officials.
The project is overseen by the Ministry of Public Security, with Vinhomes serving as the main contractor. No details regarding the project’s schedule or cost have been made public.
