Works on the new main stand in Oostende are yet to begin, planned to get underway after the 2015/16 season. What will be built is a 3,700 capacity grandstand with 1,250 business seats, though most recent piece by “Nieuwsblaad” suggests these figures may have been increased to 3,800 and 1,500, respectively.
One more part of the project that doesn’t seem entirely certain at this point is the new north end zone, depicted in latest rendering (below) though previously not announced. With or without it, KV Oostende plan to retain capacity of roughly 8,000 people once all works are complete.
Current budget of the project stands at €12 million, significantly more than the 9 million announced in April last year. But it should bring KV Oostende the much needed financial boost with new hospitality areas and additional infrastructure spread across 3 floors.
