Mini Romareda – construction description

A temporary stadium for Real Zaragoza is being built in the northern part of Zaragoza, replacing the parking lots (Parking Norte de la Expo) located next to the Corona de Aragón athletics stadium. A consortium of companies composed of the local Grupo MLN and the NUSSLI Group from Switzerland is responsible for the construction.

The investment is related to the construction of a new stadium for Real Zaragoza to replace the old La Romareda – after its demolition, Real Zaragoza is expected to play in the temporary stadium for two seasons, 2025/26 and 2026/27 (the new La Romareda is expected to be ready in the summer of 2027).

Construction of the temporary stadium, nicknamed Mini Romareda, began in January 2025 and is scheduled to last until the end of May this year. The club is expected to move into the facility at the start of the 2025/26 season, with the first league match to be held in August 2025. The stadium is to be inaugurated earlier with a game of the Spanish women's national team.

The stadium will receive four metal, modular stands on each side of the pitch, and will have a capacity of 20,103 spectators. The main stand will be covered, and the stadium will also receive floodlights and two video screens.
