Aramco Stadium – construction description

The new Aramco Stadium is being built with the 2027 AFC Asian Cup in mind and, above all, the 2034 FIFA World Cup, which is set to take place in Saudi Arabia. It will serve as the main football venue of the Dammam metropolitan area – the third largest in the country by population.

The concept of Aramco Stadium was inspired by water vortices occurring in the waters of the Persian Gulf near the city. This motif is expressed in the dynamic, spiral form of the new venue.

The stadium will accommodate more than 46,000 spectators, with Al Qadsiah FC as its tenant. The project is backed by Aramco, a petrochemical giant and one of the world’s most profitable companies, headquartered just 10 km from the site.

Construction began in early 2024 and is scheduled for completion in 2026. The contract is worth 3.7 billion Saudi riyals, or around one billion US dollars.
