EverBank Stadium – construction description

The main goal of the large-scale modernization of the EverBank Stadium is to provide a full roof covering the stadium. The roof will be made of a light-transmitting ETFE membrane, and its structure will transform the stadium’s profile, giving it a futuristic, streamlined shape.

Other changes will focus on improving comfort and aesthetics, as well as expanding the premium offering. The renovation will also reduce seating capacity by several thousand. Surrounding the stadium, landscaped green areas styled as a subtropical park are planned, reflecting Florida’s natural scenery.

With this investment, EverBank Stadium is expected to reach a standard comparable to the most modern NFL venues, and the Jacksonville Jaguars are set to remain in Jacksonville for at least 30 years. The entire project has been named the “Stadium of the Future.”

Construction began in February 2025, although in the first year work was limited in scope. One of the largest undertakings during this period was the construction of a wide staircase at the stadium’s southwest corner, which opened on October 3, 2025.

Full-scale construction got underway at the beginning of 2026. As a result, in the 2026 season the Jaguars will play with reduced stadium capacity, and in 2027 they will temporarily relocate to another venue. The project is scheduled to be completed before the start of the 2028 season.
