Noul stadion Dinamo – construction description

Dinamo Bucharest is one of the most successful football clubs in Romania, but its stadium, opened in 1951, had for a long time fallen short of modern standards.

Thanks to government support, Dinamo is set to receive a completely new stadium. The investment was planned alongside three other new venues in the capital – for Steaua, Rapid, and a stadium primarily intended for rugby.

Unlike the other three projects, plans for Dinamo’s new stadium faced significant delays. After several years, however, the project was eventually brought to fruition. Construction began in early 2026, starting with the demolition of the old stadium, and is expected to last three years.

The new venue will be built on the site of the existing stadium. It is planned as a modern, football-specific facility with a capacity of over 26,000 spectators. The stands will be fully covered, and the exterior will feature a unique, decorative facade.

More details about the Dinamo Bucharest stadium project can be found on a separate subpage
