Ibercaja Estadio or Estadio Ibercaja. These are the options being considered, according to El Periódico de Aragón, for the new name of the Mini Romareda, the modular stadium in the north of Zaragoza, which will be the home of Real Zaragoza for the next two seasons. Meanwhile, the name of the New Romareda is still a matter of the future.

The news broke after an interview with the mayoress of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca for Aragón TV. The most important bank in Zaragoza has bet very strongly on acquiring the naming, revealed the mayoress. Although she did not name Ibercaja directly, this announcement leaves no room for doubt or speculation. The entity sounded as the main candidate from the beginning of the search for a sponsor for the naming rights of the stadiums and is undoubtedly the most important bank in the city.

Exact figures, deadlines and the duration of the agreement have not yet been revealed, but the mayoress promises that there will be more news soon. The company that manages the venue, made up of the Government of Aragon, Zaragoza City Council and Real Zaragoza, and headed by the mayoress herself, said it expected around €600,000 a year with the club in the Segunda División and €1M in the event of a return to Primera. However, the figures could be somewhat lower.

Meanwhile, the old Romareda has already lost all the seats, and machinery is reducing the lower level of the stands to rubble. On Monday June 30 the dismantling of the roof will begin, so the entire perimeter has been covered with protective netting.
