Where is Hard Rock Stadium, the stadium of Copa América 2024, located?

Hard Rock Stadium is located in Miami Gardens, Florida. It is a multi-purpose stadium that serves as the home of the NFL team Miami Dolphins, the NCAA team Miami Hurricanes. The stadium opened in 1987. Miami is a dynamic city that also offers many cultural, recreational and entertainment attractions. It is also home to the famous Miami Beach or the Cuban district of Little Havana.

What does the Copa América 2024 stadium in Miami look like?

The capacity of the stadium is approximately 65,000 seats, reduced from the original 75,000 after extensive renovations. The architecture and design of the stadium distinguish it as a landmark of the city. The stadium has a modern, open-air canopy that provides shade for most of the seating areas, while allowing natural lighting on the pitch. The canopy also protects spectators from rain, which is important given Miami's tropical climate.

Inside the stadium are modern facilities such as large video screens in each corner, luxury boxes and advanced LED boards. The seating has been updated to an aqua colour, and new bars have been added in the corridors.

What is the history of Hard Rock Stadium, the Copa América 2024 stadium?

Hard Rock Stadium opened in 1987 as Joe Robbie Stadium, named after the Miami Dolphins founder. Construction of the stadium began in 1985 and was entirely privately funded, which was unique for the time. The stadium was designed as a multi-purpose facility, capable of hosting both American football, baseball and football games.

The stadium has undergone several name changes over the years, including Pro Player Park, Dolphins Stadium, Land Shark Stadium and Sun Life Stadium, before getting its current name in 2016 through a deal with Hard Rock Cafe Inc.

In the past, Hard Rock Stadium was also home to the MLB team Florida Marlins until 2011, when they moved to Marlins Park. Hard Rock Stadium has hosted six Super Bowls, two World Series and numerous other major sporting and music events, including the Miami Open tennis tournament and concerts by world-renowned artists such as Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga.

In 2015, the stadium underwent a major $350 million renovation, which included the installation of a canopy over most of the stands, upgrades to the VIP areas, the addition of new video screens and improvements to the technology infrastructure.
