Stadion Chełmianki – historical stadium description

The Stadion Miejski (Municipal Stadium) in Chełm was opened in 1959, on the 15th anniversary of the Polish People's Republic (PRL). For the first 31 years it was named after the Polish Committee of National Liberation (PKWN).

Built on an embankments, it underwent a major modernization of the western stand in 2002. In 2014, the eastern side underwent similar improvements, allowing the facility to offer 3325 seats.

In early 2025, the old stadium was demolished to make room for the construction of the new Municipal Stadium. The last game and farewell to the old facility took place on November 23, 2024, with the new stadium to be built by the end of 2026.
