Městský stadion – historical stadium description
The ground was built in 1969 just by the Czech-Polish border, in the modest town of Karvina. Initially it was an elliptical bowl with 15 rows of terracing.
However early 21st century saw great improvement with erection of main grandstand that accommodated players and 904 seated fans, all of whom are provided with cover.
The ground was used by MFK Karvina’s first team as well as youth sides (U19 and U17). Interestingly, the club was founded with incorporation of the town’s Czech and Polish teams.
In 2014-2016 the stadium was completely reconstructed into a football-specific venue, utilising the existing main stand and expanding it.
