Stadion ROW-u – stadium description

The Rybnik municipal stadium was opened in 1939 and remains the Silesian city's central ground for football and speedway, both of which have significant traditions here. Stands were always based on sloped land and to date only the central section of main grandstand received any roof.

Since 2000 the stadium is regularly being renovated by conversion to all-seater, new pitch with under-soil heating, floodlights or extensive speedway infrastructure – to name the most important updates.

Apart from games by Energetyk and speedway team RKM, the stadium also hosted several major concerts with the likes of Rod Stewart, Guns'n'Roses or Bryan Adams performing.

In 2007 there was a vision to build a completely new stadium for Rybnik, but it never came to fruition.
