Stadion MKS-u Kozienice – stadium description
The municipal stadim in Kozienice serves multiple purposes, from football and athletics to firefighting exercises, thanks to a 13-meter tower installed. Thanks to splendid conditions for several disciplines, it's considered one of Masovia's best stadiums, shaming even Warsaw for a long time.
It owes the high standard to redevelopment of 2003-2004, which concluded with official opening in November of 2004. Since then the anchor tenant was MKS Kozienice and then its successor Energia. Amateur athletics training is also a constant use.
The two grandstands may seem almost identical when seen from the field, however the east one is based on landfill, while the west side provides all necessary infrastructure under and behind the concrete auditorium. It offers 4 changing rooms, toilets, wellness room and conference facilities. The stand's central part is covered and has a designated VIP area.
The stadium meets UEFA Category 3 criteria and major IAAF regulations, which means it's capable of holding international events, even if Kozienice haven't seen those over the past several years.
In 2013 the building was named after local sports activist Marek Łuczyński, who headed the municipal sports and culture centre for many years.
