New design: Stade de la Meinau covered with airplane fuselages
On January 5th, the authorities of RC Strasbourg announced the winning design for the revamp of Stade de la Meinau. The Populous concept was chosen, the most important goal is to increase the capacity of the stadium to 32,000 seats.
France: Strasbourg revamp getting closer
As Racing continues to grow, so does the prospect of their stadium changes. Relocation is now ruled out, detailed concept of Stade de la Meinau revamp is coming up. As much as €100 million will be spent.
Strasbourg: Racing hope to expand stadium by up to 7,000
President of Racing Club hopes that within 4 years their stadium could reach 32,000 or 33,000, meeting long-term Ligue 1 demand. But in order for this to happen, up to €100 million needs to be spent, supposedly by taxpayers.
France: Strasbourg analysing stadium expansion
Current capacity of Stade de la Meinau is too low for the long term, but most importantly the stadium itself is heavily dated. That's why a feasibility study into its revamp will be carried out.
