Stadion Banik Sokolov – stadium description

Before WWII German clubs played here, at the very western side of Czech territories. Already during the conflict this venue underwent expansion in 1942 due to big success in the cup. 1951 saw record attendance of 5,000 at a cup game of what became a Czech club – Sokol Sokolov. This name changed to Banik several years later. Today the ground can still accommodate some 5,000 people, but only 904 of them have individual seating. In the 21^st Century an extensive administration building was erected opposite the main stand.
