Yanmar Stadium Nagai – stadium description
First sports complex in this location was opened in 1964. Iinitially the main stadium could hold up to 23,000 spectators, which changed in 1996, after complete reconstruction. New stands for a maximum crowd of 50,000 were inaugurated before national festivities and early enough to take part in 2002 World Cup.
Singe-tiered stands encircle football pitch and 9-lane running track, providing cover for most spectators.
Apart from hosting FIFA's largest tournament, the stadium saw several other international games, most notably by Japanese national team. Week-to-week use is provided by Cerezo Osaka, although the large size makes it viable only for some domestic fixtures.
