China, Europe or Africa?

The number of Chinese stadiums, of which there are as many as 15 on our list, certainly deserves attention. There are architectural masterpieces among them, but will these Asian venues be high in the competition? We will find out on March 10, when the results will be announced. One of the most notable arenas from China is Longxing Football Stadium, a facility reminiscent of Allianz Arena.

There are slightly fewer stadiums from Europe. There are 2 venues from Poland, 1 from Germany, 1 Austrian arena, 1 Hungarian venue and 1 Croatian stadium. The special one amongst them is Nemzeti Atlétikai Központ, a beautiful athletics stadium. The arena is located on the southern outskirts of Budapest city centre, right on the banks of the Danube, near the Rákóczi Bridge.

What else can we expect? As many as 9 African stadiums will take part in the competition, and fans have been waiting a very long time for some of these arenas. So it is possible that their mobilisation will be high and many people will vote for these venues. Which stadiums will you cast your votes for? Remember that you have up to 5 votes to distribute! Your attention will probably be drawn to Stade Nelson Mandela when you vote - a facility that has been under construction since as far back as 2009.

Voting will start soon!

Stay tuned over the next month, as we will be posting regular updates on the nominated arenas on StadiumDB.com. The competition will begin on February 10. If the stadium of the team you support is on the list, make sure to spread the word to get all your friends to vote too, so that your club's arena has a better chance of winning the Stadium of the Year award!
