Description: Stadion Cibalia
The municipal stadium in Vinkovci lies in the town’s central leisure complex, south of the centre. It was built in 1966 with one major grandstand in the west. It survived with minor changes until the local team, back then named Dinamo, won promotion to Yugoslavia’s top league. To cope with increased demand a second grandstand in the east was built, increasing capacity to some 18,000 people.
In 2003 seats were installed in almost the whole stadium, reducing its size to 10,000. From 2008 there are also floodlights available for broadcasts of football games, while a brand new running track laid the same year allows the ground to host major domestic tournaments.
