Imam Mohammed University Stadium – stadium description

The stadium is located on the sprawling campus of Imam Mohammed Ibn Saud University and is part of the university's sports complex. The facility can accommodate about 10,000 spectators and is equipped with an athletics track and lighting poles. The main stand is covered with a distinctive elliptical roof.

In early 2024, the university signed an agreement with the Ministry of Sports, under which it transferred its sports facilities to the ministry's management for 10 years. Later that year, a comprehensive reconstruction of the stadium began, as the facility is to be one of the venues for the 2027 Asian Cup (the list of stadiums for the tournament was officially announced in early 2025).

In connection with the reconstruction, the facility will lose the athletics track and the existing stand on the southeast side. The main stand will be retained, but will undergo renovations, while brand new, high stands are to be built on the other sides, which will be located right next to the field. The upgrade will increase the stadium's capacity to 21,000 spectators.
