Real Zaragoza will inaugurate its new temporary stadium with free guided tours for residents and fans. The initiative will resemble the farewell event for the Gol Sur stand – all residents will be able to visit Ibercaja Estadio, built in record time and with a capacity of 20,000 spectators.

Seven days of tours, stress test and friendly match
The tours will begin on Friday, July 25, and continue until the end of the month. According to sources close to the club, visitors will be able to sit in the stands and access the entrances and pitch of Ibercaja Estadio, although the dressing rooms and other technical areas will remain off-limits. Entry is simple – just show up at Parking Norte; no prior registration is needed.
During the demolition of the Gol Sur stand, hundreds of fans visited La Romareda to say goodbye to one of the most symbolic parts of the club’s history. A similar turnout is expected for the new venue, which is why the tours have been spread over seven days. Before the official opening, fans will also be able to participate in a stress test – a safety measure required before the season starts. No special preparation is necessary, only willingness to support the club. Though the test will be brief, fan participation is seen as crucial. The club emphasizes that building community and cooperation are values that matter both on and off the pitch.
The official opening will take place on July 24 during a small ceremony with around 150 invited guests, including athletes, businesspeople and journalists. A few days later, the first friendly match at the new stadium will be played – Real Zaragoza will face CD Mirandés. The game will serve as an early test for a team still rebuilding after a disappointing season.
Rental agreement approved
The board of La Nueva Romareda SL has approved the rental agreement for Ibercaja Estadio, allowing Real Zaragoza to use the stadium. The lease lasts 26 months, with an option to extend until the Nueva Romareda is ready. The club will have full access to the entire premises – including 1,582 parking spaces (1,145 on the south side and 437 on the north), as well as a designated fan zone, which will host a food and music area with a marquee, food trucks, drinks and a DJ.
The rental cost is €250,000, but if Real Zaragoza earns promotion to La Liga, the fee will increase by 70%. The club would also be required to fund any upgrades mandated by league regulations.
Work continues at La Romareda
Meanwhile, demolition works at La Romareda continue. Debris is being cleared from the east stand, and foundations are being laid for the new Gol Sur stand. Advertising banners have been removed from the Gol Norte stand, and concrete is being poured on the upper beam of the lower Gol Sur tier. In recent hours, asbestos panels have been nearly fully removed, and groundwork has begun – PVC sheeting and steel mesh are being installed at Gol Sur.
