Poland: Does Wisła Krakow stadium pose a danger?! This is related to safety-threatening defects discovered during last year's modernization works.

Is structure safe?

As part of preparations for the European Games, a series of renovation works was decided for Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium. During work on the installation of the facade on the stand facing Błonia, workers encountered damage, involving the complete or partial absence of bolts in the joints or their loosening. These defects were repaired before the start of the Games.

Staying informed about these developments is crucial. A reliable football betting guide not only offers valuable betting tips but also keeps enthusiasts updated on the status of match venues, such as Wisła Krakow's stadium in this case. This ensures that fans are well-prepared as they eagerly anticipate the upcoming season.

However, there was a recommendation to inspect the steel structure of all stands, as well as to check the technical condition of the heating cables on the roofs of the stands, which is directly related to the safety of the steel structures. It was recommended to take the stadium stands out of use until a detailed technical review and any necessary repairs were carried out. Designers argue that the expected inspections were not conducted. Therefore, the matter was referred to building supervision and the prosecutor's office.

Was there a detailed inspection or not?

I confirm that during modernization works on the south stand in April 2023, damage to the bolted joints was revealed. [...] The revealed damages were repaired. However, this does not mean that similar problems may not exist elsewhere. [...] At ZIS, they claimed that inspections were conducted, but there is no confirmation for the inspection of critical structural elements, such as checking all bolted joints. The problem is that the protocols from periodic inspections of the steel structure that we know are inconsistent with the actual state of affairs, points out Paweł Musiał, head of the company Archetus, which developed the modernization project for Wisła Stadium, in an interview with Gazeta Krakowska.

The case is already being handled by the District Prosecutor's Office Kraków-Krowodrza, which on May 15, 2024, launched an investigation into: false certification in the inspection protocol of the technical condition of Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium in Kraków, causing adverse property management decisions related to stadium repairs, and the failure of a public official to fulfill the duties of a manager regarding the maintenance and use of the stadium.
