The authorities of Verona have agreed to designate Bentegodi Stadium as a temporary venue for Como's home matches in Serie A for the 2024/2025 season.

Just until September

Verona has approved the request from the Como 1907 club and the city authorities of Como to include Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium in the registration process as the venue for their home matches in Serie A for the 2024/2025 season.

The plan is for Como to play a few of their first matches in Verona, allowing time to upgrade their own facility to meet league requirements. Currently, the Sinigaglia Stadium has a capacity of 7,500 seats, which is less than the required 12,000. Therefore, work will soon begin to increase the capacity of the Como stadium to 10,000 seats. The Serie A authorities are willing to agree to this exception. According to city representatives, the modernization work at Sinigaglia will be completed in the first week of September.

Other options

Como had other alternatives, but the nearest facilities in Monza, Bergamo, Turin, and Parma were quickly dismissed. In the coming days, a detailed renovation project is expected to be submitted to enable the commencement of modernization work and to obtain the green light from the Prefecture, Fire Department, and Police Department.
