Germany: Eco-friendly seats from Poland at Euro 2024 stadium At the upcoming Euro 2024 European football championships, fans in the Frankfurt stadium will be seated in seats made in Poland. Polish companies Grupa Azoty and Nowy Styl have supplied 40,000 eco-friendly seats made from recycled plastic.

Polish companies give a hand

Azoty Compounding Group developed special granules for the production of the seats, which consist of more than 80% recycled materials. Azoty Group CEO Dariusz Cholewa emphasises that the material, named Tarnamid Post Industrial Recycling, is the result of the conscious use of post-industrial materials. The seats are long-lasting and resistant to intensive use and atmospheric conditions, which was crucial for the owners of Frankfurt Arena, who are committed to ecological solutions.

Work on the special material took several months in the laboratories of the Azoty Group, while the design of the seat itself was created by the Polish company Nowy Styl. The replacement of the old seats with the new ones would take place in the second half of 2023. Polish companies have already carried out similar projects before, supplying seating for stadiums in Gdansk and Poznan during UEFA Euro 2012.
