By the end of 2016 there will be some 25,000 seats installed at Russia’s national stadium. To see the final layout with 81,000 seats we have to wait until February.
A month after seat installation began at the Luzhniki stadium there are now approximately 8,000 seats installed, according to the Moscow city hall. Deputy mayor Marat Khusnullin announced on Wednesday that some 25,000 should be in place by the end of this year.
The process will be complete in February 2017, when all 81,000 seats are expected to be mounted. Together they will create a mosaic of 9 shades, from beige to burgundy.
The final layout should resemble loosely one from the below rendering. This one was selected by over 130,000 Moscow residents during online vote. Two other options envisaged gold or graphite seating, also with several shades used.
