Last year we were very impressed to see the pace in which AFAS Stadion’s new north stand was put together. In operation since late fall, that part of the revamp is complete.

Now works are in full swing nearby, in the western end. In December demolition of the aging grandstand began and after full site clearance now construction of the new one is ongoing. Large crane is being set up as we speak so that the stand is ready within months, like the previous one.

Just like the north side, the new west stand will offer standing room in the lower tier and seats in the upper one. The two will be divided by a strip of skyboxes. After both stands are connected with additional corner section, the stadium’s capacity will exceed 18,000. The project is worth €8.5 million.
