What’s been settled about the planned 50,000-capacity stadium at Walton Hall? Mayor Joe Anderson promises a major update for the public in October.
Liverpool Echo pursues the issue of Everton’s new stadium, planned at Walton Hall. The scheme that would see Everton relocate from Goodison Park was the subject of recent questions to mayor Joe Anderson. Apprently the city and club are still in talks. He said: “I’m not prepared to keep people in the dark for longer than that.
“I haven’t got to the stage where I’m setting a deadline on a decision but we will simply be giving people an update on what’s happening in October.”
The proposed development on the park would see Everton build a 50,000-seater stadium, while 1,000 new homes and 30,000 square metres of leisure, retail and restaurant space would also built on the land. Mayor Anderson has previously said it could create more than 1,000 jobs.
