BVB are the club with highest average attendance year after year. In the 2014/15 Bundesliga campaign they drew 80,463 people to Signal Iduna Park (Westfalenstadion) on a regular basis. Europe’s second most attended club, FC Barcelona, was well behind with 77,632 people.

In the new season Borussia hope to further improve their numbers after having over 99% tickets sold for the last few seasons. After replacing some seats in the north end (shown below) with standing room, capacity will grow to 81,359 fans.

Unfortunately the upcoming campaign will bring restrictions to BVB supporters. Not at home, but every away game will have to be severely policed by Borussia, who are obliged to bring at least 30 stewards with them to every away fixture.

Fans are also banned from presenting any significant flags on their away-days until the end of 2015. These restrictions come after the Black-Yellows lit flares several times and were fined for throwing objects onto the field.
