While ball was in play yesterday afternoon in Rourkela’s Jalda Block C, lightning struck the stands, killing two people and injuring five further.

According to newindianexpress.com, during yesterday’s local game in Rourkela’s secondary stadium in Jalda Block C lightning hit the stands and instantly killed two men aged 24-26 and injured five more (aged 25-30).

This shocking accident will be subject to further analysis.

It’s the second unusual incident in Rourkela recently, with another stadium in the city being invaded by a herd of elephants in July.
