After last week's selection of BAM as general contractor it seemed the 15,000 new stadium can finally go ahead. Not yet as other bidders object to the tender outcome. Their complaint has to be reviewed now, Freie Presse reports.
Exact time schedule for the construction of Chemnitz new stadium was to be known this week.
However, yesterday a complaint was filed by Köster-Gruppe, company whose bid wasn't selected in the construction tender. Meanwhile, Köster argue that their offer was €1.5 million cheaper than that of winning bidders BAM and demand a review of the procedure.
Though it's not clear how long it may take, the appeal is sure to delay the groundbreaking on new municipal stadium by at least a few weeks. Should the review deny Köster's claim's legitimacy, BAM will remain the general contractor and will be able to start work soon. However, if the court approves the complaint, construction may be delayed by months.
