42-year-old man fell from an escalator as he was leaving MetLife Stadium early after NY Giants ended their match. It isn't clear why he bent over the railing, but after falling from 30 feet he suffered very serious head injuries as he crashed onto a metal stage structure.

The man was immediately transported by a rescue helicopter to one of New York's hospitals in what was described to the press as critical condition.

This is the first accident of such nature in the short history of MetLife Stadium, one of the world's most expensive stadiums. But it isn't anything new this season. In late August 2 fans died in just two days after falling from escalator and upper stands at Reliant Stadium and Georgia Dome, respectively.
