Stadion Ernesta Pohla is currently the largest new venue under construction in Poland. As a much anticipated project in the somewhat forgotten region of Silesia, it's in the spotlight on a daily basis.

But usually it's about new elements making its structure grow, while this time observers are more and more concerned about the pace becoming slower and slower. This associated with news of fragile financial situation of general contractor Polimex-Mostostal raises concerns.

Grzegorz Woźniak, construction manager, tries to address them when talking to Sport.pl. Our financial problems are a fact and that's commonly known. And it does affect the construction. Works have slowed down, but not halted or suspended. Soon payments should be unblocked and then we'll get back to our proper pace, Woźniak claims.

His words confirm there is a problem for Zabrze which worries Stadion w Zabrzu, a municipal company launched to carry out this project. The company has sent an open message to contractors, demanding information about potential outcome of this issue. We are focused on punctual accomplishment of this construction and thus ask for official statement of Polimex-Mostostal. As soon as we get one, it will be released to the public, letter says.
