Stadionul Ilie Oană – stadium description

This stadium is the result of complete revamp of a historical ground by the same name. Previous terracing has been changed to four independent stands divided by buildings raised in corners. The construction of single-tiered, covered stands is simple in order to cut costs as this venue was founded by the municipality. Out of three Romanian stadiums built in 2011 it has by far the lowest cost per seat (at less than €1,000), of which authorities are very proud.

At the same time the ground is fully sufficient for the local demand. There’s 15,500 seats, of which 5,000 are folded and 240 are luxurious VIP chairs located in 16 skyboxes. To comply the league and UEFA requirements it also comprises modern lighting, two big screens, under-soil heating and high-standard facilities for players and officials.
