Estadio Víctor Manuel Reyna – stadium description

Built between 1982 and 1984, this stadium was opened with a game of now defunct club Estudiantes. Initially with stands for 6,000 people, it reached peak with 27,500. Recent years saw a decrease in capacity with improvement of facilities (main stand) to just over 23,500 until 6,000 more fans were allowed from 2014 onwards, following a major redevelopment.

As the largest and most universal stadium locally, it received the patronage of Professor V. M. Reyna, man seen as the father of football in Chiapas – not only helping to form official structures, but also taking care of kids who wanted to play.

Everyday use is provided by Jaguares de Chiapas. This animal name together with a tree growing inside it make the nicknames sound reasonable – 'La Selva Jaguar' or 'Selva de Chiapas' (Jaguar Jungle and Jungle of Chiapas).

Apart from Jaguares games it's also been host to two Mexican friendly internationals.
