The planned ERE process (collective layoffs) by Limak is expected to affect more or less 400 people, which still represents nearly the entire team working on the project. However, the company emphasizes that this is standard practice in the construction industry.
As the project approaches completion, the demand for workers decreases, and some of them naturally move on to other investments. Representatives of the contractor point out that many employees choose to change jobs on their own initiative – often due to location, scope of work, or more attractive offers. At the same time, Limak declares that it will try to provide some workers with the opportunity to transfer to other projects carried out by the company, if availability allows.
The Camp Nou redevelopment project has attracted significant interest from the beginning, but also controversy. In recent months, reports have emerged about issues related to employment conditions, including financial penalties imposed on subcontractors for irregularities. The planned layoffs may once again spark discussion about workforce management in such large-scale projects. On one hand, they are a natural element of the construction cycle; on the other, the scale of the workforce reduction draws attention from the public and trade unions.

Despite the staffing changes, Limak assures that the workforce reduction will not affect the pace or quality of the project. On the contrary, it is intended to help ensure an orderly transition into the final phase of the investment. Over the next two years, work will focus on finalizing the facility, which upon completion is set to become one of the most modern stadiums in the world. The new Spotify Camp Nou is expected to offer significantly greater comfort for fans, modern technologies, and an expanded commercial offering.
