Inter Miami is preparing to kick off the 2026 Major League Soccer season with an impressive highlight — the new Miami Freedom Park stadium, set to be inaugurated on April 4. In this match, Inter Miami will face Austin FC.

The 2026 MLS season will start on February 21 and run until November 7. This will be the last season under the traditional February–November schedule, before the planned shorter campaign in 2027 and the switch to a summer–spring schedule starting from the 2027-28 season, aiming to better synchronize the league with the global calendar.

Inter Miami will begin the season with five consecutive away matches, allowing construction work at Miami Freedom Park to be completed. It remains unclear whether any friendly or preseason matches will be held at the new stadium before April 4.

The new home of Inter Miami will be the result of over 20 months of work by teams from multiple continents. In July 2025, fans were able to see a detailed 3D model of the stadium at the Miami Freedom Park Experience Center. The stadium features a modern hybrid pitch and a unique roofing system — the first of its kind in MLS history — designed to protect spectators from rain while maintaining aesthetics and structural balance.
