New date for the Camp Nou return
Due to construction delays, the full completion of the project has been pushed back to December 2027. We’ll have the best stadium in the world. It’s no longer a dream but a reality — and it will also be the safest,
Fort said, emphasizing the symbolic meaning of Barça’s return home.
While fans will have to wait two more years for the full reopening, return to the Camp Nou is scheduled for late November 2025. Initially, capacity will be 45,401 seats, as the club awaits approval to begin Phase 1B, which includes the South Goal, the Main Stand, and the Lateral Stand. If the plan stays on schedule, by the end of 2025 the stadium will hold 62,518 spectators, completing the first two tiers, including the North Goal and a new VIP area.

Next stages of construction
Fort outlined the next milestones: the third tier will be built during the 2026/27 season, and the roof installation will be completed between summer and Christmas 2027.
The club already has the initial occupancy license for Phase 1A (Main Stand and South Goal), covering 25,991 seats, including 81 accessible ones. This phase includes new locker rooms, a revamped player tunnel, and upgraded safety and fire systems.
Phase 1B will raise capacity to 45,401 seats (129 accessible), and Phase 1C (North Goal), expected to be finalized by the end of this year, will add new VIP boxes and lift the total to 62,518.
Gol 1957 – the heart of Barça’s new atmosphere
Fort also revealed details of the new supporters’ section, Gol 1957,
named after the year the stadium opened, on 24 September 1957. Though it won’t be ready for the first return, it’s set to become the beating heart of the new Camp Nou. The section will be dedicated to young fans aged 18 to 28 who have been on the waiting list for at least two years, with a gender balance and a required attendance of 80% of games. Away fans will be relocated to the North Stand.

“We’re making history” – Espai Barça as a generational project
Fort stressed that rebuilding the Camp Nou is more than an infrastructure project — it’s a social and cultural one. This is a stadium future generations will admire, a source of pride for every Barça supporter,
she said.
She added that the club is committed to helping season ticket holders reclaim their old seats to preserve the spirit of the original Camp Nou. Work on the Espai Barça project will continue through 2028, aiming to deliver one of the most modern and safest stadiums in the world.
